There is no doubt that the powerful and rich can get the ears of politician but politicians depend on one thing and that is the vote. Money will not alone get them in.
Teachers constitute one of the most educated groups; they teach from books like ‘To Kill a Mockingbird’ which celebrates the courage of an individual who stands up for another. Yet their voice sometimes is silent as if they expect this thing to change of itself. These people, the rich, believe that their money can do it, and it seems that many teachers feel that is true. We must stand together on this and insist to politicians and heads of unions that, even while we abide by ethical considerations, the education policy of the nation is not for sale.
Say you: ‘Evidently, the process of privatization continues unchallenged as seen with the imposition and implementation of CCSS, the new versions of standardized testing, and the unstoppable multiplication of charter schools.’
It is the word unstoppable which draws attention for it can be stopped. We just have to make up our minds. And then the other thing that teachers talk about comes to mind, perseverance.
eltron34https://www.blogger.com/profile/03397567117777545434noreply@blogger.com
