First please like his Facebook event here -->https://www.facebook.com/events/297723840427078/

Jesse The Walking Man Turner is walking from Connecticut to Washington DC this summer to protest the education malpractice that is demoralizing parents, teachers, and turning our children into human capital.

He will start walking in June and in time to reach Washington DC for the BAT's National Congress July, (400 miles in 40 days)

He will  post his itinerary in February and will hold Walking Man Events along the way in people's homes, libraries, coffee shops, churches, and on street corners, to gather evidence from parents, students, and teachers.

Why Jesse will walk?
1. He is a Professor of literacy, he has a Ph.D in Language, Reading, and Culture. Everything he knows professionally informs him what is happening to our children in the name of education reform is child abuse.
2. Because Moses walked, because the Cherokee Walked, because the Navajo walked, because Martin Walked, and because Cesar Chavez walked. Walking may just be the most potent weapon human beings have against oppression.

Jesse so eloquently says-->Joan of Arc said: "One life is all we have and we live it as we believe in living it. But to sacrifice what you are and to live without belief, that is a fate more terrible than dying." I think I'll read about Joan on my walk to DC at night. You never go wrong with the saints.
I want to thank the many people who are endorsing my walk to DC. I did this nearly 5 years ago, it helped build the coalition of Save Our Schools March that brought Diane Ravitch, Matt Damon and nearly 10,000 others to DC the following year. Five years later I have built up an extensive network of like minded friends and groups. This walk is going to be historic, it is going to get attention, and it reminds us we have a weapon of hope that the Ed Deformers lack. They are racing to the top, sacrificing everything to exploit our children, because they are afraid. Our weapon is love:
What we do for children , we do for love,
What we do for parents, we do for love,
What we do for teachers, we do for love,
What we do for our public schools, we do for love.
One man walking in the name of love,
Jesse The Walking Man Turner

Stay tuned for more info and how BATs can help Jesse spread his message!
